What will the credential be?
Your credential will be a Professional Biblical Counselor & Coach (PBCC).

What equipment or computer software do I need?
You will need a personal computer with a keyboard, software to create documents, internet access, and a printer. You will also need software to view videos or listen to audio files, such as a Media Player.

What are the prerequisites?
All applicants must be at least 25 years of age, and hold a High School Diploma or a certificate of High School equivalency (GED).

What should I include in my personal statement?
You should tell us as much as you can to give us a thorough background of what brought you to the decision to become a PBCC, and on the second essay you will tell us what you plan to do with your new credential.

When will I be introduced to my success coach?
You will be introduced to your Success Coach after you:
- Receive your approval email
- Complete a virtual orientation
- Paid your tuition

What will I learn?
LCSI equips Christians to provide Biblical solutions for the problems people face. You will learn the following:
- How to recognize various mental health issues
- When to report abuse, and when to refer your client to a specialist
- Enhance your knowledge of Biblical standards to apply to specific life issues
- Effective counseling and coaching skills and learn to engage your clients
- Write comprehensive clinical notes
- Approach your clients with intentional listening with compassion and empathy
- Communicate what you heard, and probe for clarification
- Coordinate care procedures with a supervisor during practicum, and will engage in self-evaluation at the end of your training

Will I be able to print the workbooks?
The workbooks are digital and also printable.

What should I expect after I complete the coursework?
Once you complete the coursework, you will be assigned a supervisor who you will observe in session, or you will view videos of counseling sessions and write notes to submit to your supervisor. Your supervisor will then observe you in session, and after you have satisfied the required hours you will counsel or coach clients without observation, but at each tier of supervision, you will report to your supervisor. The total number of hours required for you to be supervised is 60 hours. When you have completed your supervision hours, your supervisor will notify LCSI that you have successfully completed your hours, and you will receive your certificate of completion.
