Course Description


Welcome to Module B The Study of Developmental Theories. This module focuses on theoretical studies by Erik Erikson, Sigmund Freud, Abraham Maslow, and John Bowlby. In addition, Dr. Doris G. Morgan, founder of Lifebuilders Counseling Services Institute (LCSI), introduces her studies from a Faith-Based Biblical perspective on Christian Growth and Development and Developing Love for Yourself and Others. The format of each Workbook Lesson is designed to help make the assessment and diagnosis of the human condition effortless. In addition, this Module presents opportunities for you to reflect on your personal experiences, assess them and finally be free of hindrances that keep you from functioning at your full potential.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Module B, The Study of Developmental Theories, contains Workbook Lessons B401 to B404. At the end of each lesson, you will take a quiz covering what you’ve learned from the lesson. When you have completed the four lessons in Module B, you will begin the learning activities. 

Workbook Lesson B401, Human Growth and Development, is a brief overview of Erik Erikson, Sigmund Freud and Abraham Maslow; all well known in the field of human development and psychology. Lesson B402, Attachment Theory, introduces the emotional bond or ties humans have to someone or something. Lesson B403, Christian Growth and Development, provides a glimpse of how transformation occurs in Christians from the perspective of stages, that also reflects our growth of from “glory to glory” as described in God’s Word (2 Corinthians 3: 18). LCSI’s goal is to provide you, as well as your clients, with a Biblical model of how to measure Christian growth and development in Christ using six stages we will refer to as the “glory,” stages. Lesson B404, Developing Love for Yourself and Others, is the last workbook, which will cover seven characteristics of Biblical truths of who you are, what you have and what you can do in Christ Jesus.
