Course Description
Congratulations! You have completed the necessary coursework and other prerequisites required by our program to advance to this practicum module. Practicum is field training experience or your first exposure to hands on counseling or coaching, which is supervised by a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) or a certified Professional Biblical Counselor & Coach (PBCC). This practicum module will assist you in developing or sharpening your practical experience working with clients.
By now, you should have decided on the field of interest you want to specialize in. You may also be drawn to issues that those in your sphere of influence are attempting to overcome, which could guide to your areas of interest. In this module, you are required to engage in counseling sessions with clients face-to-face, whether in-person or virtually, based on approval from your supervisor. During your time with your clients, you must engage in administering assessments and incorporating Biblical principles with therapeutic strategies as you take thorough notes.
The timeframe for you to complete your practicum is one year from the day you begin Module E. Once you have successfully completed your required hours, your supervisor will submit a recommendation for certification. You will receive your certificate within two weeks from the date we receive the recommendation.
